Biography
Dr. Donna Kachinskas is a naturopathic physician licensed as a Primary Care Provider (PCP) in the state of Washington providing health care that is focused on integrating and balancing both conventional and complementary approaches to good health. She has over 20 years of experience in the field of obesity and cancer research, and has worked in clinical settings to facilitate the optimal integration of evidence based complementary treatments for patients. Dr. Kachinskas has advanced training in cancer, women's health and homeopathy.
Her unique background, a Ph.D. in Molecular Pharmacology and Toxicology and a medical degree, allows her to function easily coordinating any specialty care you may require or to act as the specialist, consulting with you and your existing medical team as an expert on naturopathic treatments and how they might be integrated into your current care as well as evaluating any potential interactions.
As a naturopathic physician, Dr. Kachinskas' first approach is to help your body do its own healing with help from herbs and supplements as needed and finally using pharmaceuticals only if necessary. She believes in treating the whole person and helping restore balance to the body, spirit and life connections. Donna and her husband currently ride and live with three horses when not playing with their dogs, cats and parrots in Carnation, WA.
Dr. Kachinskas is currently accepting new patients. She specializes in women's health issues such as menopause as well as metabolic disorders, chronic illness and cancer. In addition she also has a special interest in rider focused health care for equestrians.
Making Appointments
Patients are seen by appointment from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m, Mondays and Wednesdays at Balancing Health in Bothell and Tuesdays and Thursdays at Evergreen Integrative Medicine in Bellevue. Appointments may be made by calling 425-398 -WELL (9355) for Bothell or 425-495-2179. Please assist us by being on time for your appointment. We can mail or fax your first visit forms to you. Please bring these forms in completed before your appointment.
Visit Consultation
Most patients require a minimum of two office visits to establish a comprehensive
treatment plan. Regular follow-up appointments are generally recommended. The first
office consult which includes a comprehensive intake, review of medical records, physical
exam, and initial treatment plan, generally lasts 60 to 90 minutes depending on the complexity of your circumstances. Follow-up visits last 30-60 minutes.
Payment is due on day of service. We accept cash, personal checks, Visa, and Master Card. There is a $25.00 fee for all returned checks.
Telephone Consultation
After an initial visit, telephone consultation appointments are available for those who live
out of town or prefer telephone consultation. Telephone consults are on a cash basis only
as insurance will not cover this service. Fees for a telephone consult are $50.00 for each
15 minutes. Brief phone calls are accepted at no charge. Messages are checked daily and
will be returned within 48 hrs.
Insurance Coverage & Fees
Dr. Kachinskas is credentialed as a Primary Care Provider (PCP) with most major insurance plans. She is a preferred provider with the following insurance companies:

All health plans vary, please contact your plan directly to understand your specific coverage for naturopathic medicine.
Dr. Kachinskas does NOT accept the following plans: Medicare, Medicaid/DSHS, or Basic Health Plan.
Office visits fees are determined by the complexity of the problems. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to discuss our fees. Your insurance will be billed directly unless you prefer to handle it yourself. Insurance plans cover varying percentages of your medical costs and you may be responsible for any amount not covered by your plan.
Appointment cancellations
We understand that circumstances occasionally arise changing your plans. You may
cancel at no charge if you call at least 24 hrs before your appointment. If you do not
cancel or fail to show for your appointment a no show fee of $50.00 will be charged.
Medical Records and Confidentiality
Your medical records are confidential and require your written authorization before they
can be released to other health care providers.
