Professional Biography
Janna graduated from Bastyr University in 1996 with a Masters of Science in Acupuncture. After taking time off to get married and honeymoon in Italy she opened her first practice on Whidbey Island in 1997 where she lived for 29 years. She also has been clinical faculty at Bastyr Center for Natural Health from 2001 – 2006 and again from 2011 – present.
In 2006 she and her husband moved to California where she began a second practice on the Central Coast. Her husband was offered a job back east, so they pulled stakes again and moved to New Jersey in 2007 where they lived until spring of 2011. While there Janna started another private practice and taught at the only acupuncture school in Pennsylvania. When her husband’s job ended they moved back to her beloved Pacific Northwest in March 2011 and is happy to be an Edmonds resident. Immediately upon her return she was hired back at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health doing the clinical teaching she greatly enjoys.
Janna specializes in gentle acupuncture with a gift for treating, communicating and loving the whole human being. She has studied and practiced craniosacral therapy since 1996 and is certified in the use of low level laser therapy which is used for certain types of pain conditions as well as facial revitalization. Additionally, she has been practicing foot reflexology for over 35 years.
Janna has trained with Acupuncturists Without Borders and volunteers with Seattle Acupuncture for Veterans (SAV) treating our men and women who have been wounded in war.
Appointments
Appointments are available on Wednesdays. Insurances accepted are: Cigna, Aetna, First Choice, Premera and Lifewise. For individuals with Regence and Group Health, you may be eligible for reimbursement for payments made at time of service. Check your policy for specific details regarding out-of-network reimbursement.
